WOAH. It has been a CRAZY week!
Personally, I think I was the lucky one. Because, here I am, in the heart of New York City!
For years I have been dreaming of becoming famous: Thousands of fans screaming my name, whether I'm on Broadway, singing on a stage as a soloist, or even just singing my heart out in the middle of school, or something. And now, my dreams have come true!!!
I snuck off my plane and found myself in the hussle-bussle of the New Yorker life. I was walking along, when an old man threw a guitar at me and ran a away with the police after him. I picked it up and began strumming (Hey, what was I supposed to do, luck had just literally smacked me in the face!). I quickly found the perfect words to go along with the rhythm of my guitar, along with the beat of NYC honking horns, screaming, and a couple of fighting cats. Before I knew it, some man who claimed to be French, came up and asked who the heck I was- only, he said it in a cheesy French accent. I told him my name, and I was whisked off. Before I knew it, I was sitting in the back of a fancy limo, with a French wannabe and a driver who talked in 3rd person ONLY: "Ernie loves pie!" "Ernie turned left" and my favorite, "Ernie thinks you pretty. But don't tell Mrs. Ernie!". Ha ha!!! I was so tired and so confused, I almost forgot my sisters and I were miles apart, possibly on different sides of the planet by now! The "french" dude also claimed to be a director, which, I would have believed, if he hadn't added that last part: "And I have chosen you to be the lead in my next Broadway performance!" AUGHHHHH!!! I couldn't believe this!!! I, Alexandra Claire Dachmen, was going to be on BROADWAY. Finally, we arrived at his little "mansion" (a NY apartment with a cray cat lady living beneath him and a teenage "rock star" living above him) and by then, I think he was about to go crazy with my crazy questions ("Do I get my own make-up artist?!") and how I was constantly pinching myself (It's hard to not think you're dreaming when you're in a limo with a (possibly) German man in a barrette and a drawn-on mustache telling you you're going to become famous). His amazing daughter (who confirmed it that they were German), Elise, fed me and let me take a nap, and then later drove me to where I was preparing to be in the show. Mr. Germanch (I made it up, it's a mix between "German"and French") worked me overtime prepping me for his re-told tale of the Princess and the Pauper, which we would be performing the next week. Last night was the performance, and it was amazing! Getting ready for the performance, I had tried on approximately 102 pairs of shoes, 204 outfits, and had 23 eyebrow hairs plucked. The day of the performance, I was drenched in bad luck. I was shower in mud, by a racing car, on the street, found meal worms in my salad at some cafe', and bruised my arm in the middle of a cat fight (no joke, two alley cats attacked me as I walked back from the cafe'). But that's a good thing, right? Because if I have my share of curses, my performance should be perfect. I don't get it, with silly Broadway superstition... But don't tell them that, I can't have Karma making this all go wrong!!! But, anyways, it went great, and I especially loved it when I sang the closing song, in a pearly-white gown with my hair pulled back in such perfect and beautiful way. I wanted to do it again!!! So, I have decided to perform twice more, and then I will re-unite with my sisters- I hope. Maybe I could return... Once we find my parents, that is. For now, I need to keep in focus and remember my parents have been kidnapped, and then allow only a little space for living my dream while at it... Just a little...
At least I had snuck my iPod (along with some other junk...) in my backpack before we left. I can contact my sisters with through the blog, and if we luck out soon enough, we can continue our quest.
CARTER, RIKKI, HAILEE, KAILEY, AND BAILEY:
If you're out there, I hope you're OK!!! Contact me soon!!! (If possible...) STICK TOGETHER!!! I love and miss y'all!
G2G! Time for practice!
Later Duds!
-Alex
